All the training and
activities are of a challenging and exciting nature. They foster and develop
confidence, self reliance and loyalty in the cadet both as an individual
member of the community and as a member of a team.

The Duke of
Edinburgh's Award
 |
The Duke of
Edinburgh's Award was started in 1956, and since then thousands of Army
Cadets have gained these valuable Awards every year. The Duke of
Edinburgh's Award is a youth programme offering practical, cultural and
adventurous activities under the four categories or skills; community
service, physical achievement and expeditions.
The similarities
to Army Cadet training are obvious - which is why the two go together so
well. In the ACF almost all of our activities are cross-credited with
the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, so whilst cadets are training for first
aid, drill, target shooting, expeditions, taking part in sports, they
are simultaneously making progress towards their Duke of Edinburgh's
Award.
The Duke of
Edinburgh's Award is better known outside the cadet world by schools &
colleges, employers and the general public and with your Cadet Star
Training awards demonstrates your achievements in Cranfield Detachment,
Bedfordshire Army Cadet Force. |
